Job Summary
The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides professional respiratory focused intervention during all phases of the patient care stay. The Registered Respiratory Therapist assesses and assists in the determination of a respiratory plan of care based on physical assessment, diagnosis, and patient history. The Registered Respiratory Therapist may provide medicated and non-medicated therapies, invasive and noninvasive ventilation, oxygen administration and titration, diagnostic testing as related to ventilation and pulmonary function as well as arterial blood gas analysis.

Required: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Program
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in a related field

Proficient in safely providing all routine and emergent respiratory modalities.
Able to assess patients and provide patient care per protocol.
Provide accurate and appropriate electronic documentation.

Possesses in depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Graduate Respiratory Therapist:
Job Summary
The Graduate Respiratory Therapist is a member of the health care team who has completed a CoArc approved Registered Respiratory Therapy program. The Graduate Respiratory Therapist may be in this position for up to 180 days. The Graduate Therapist must obtain and move to the Registered Respiratory Therapist position by the 181st day, or employment is terminated. The Graduate Respiratory Therapist may perform care in all areas of the hospital. This care is to include medicated and non-medicated therapy, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, application and titration of oxygen therapy, pulmonary diagnostic testing and arterial blood gas performance and analysis. The Graduate Respiratory Therapist assesses the patient to assist in formulation of a respiratory care plan. The Graduate Respiratory Therapist will respond to emergent clinical needs throughout the facility.
