For this position, the successful candidate will be part of Pratt & Whitney's Propulsion Systems Analysis (PSA) organization, focusing on engine system performance and vehicle analysis. PSA offers college students an excellent opportunity to work in a very exciting discipline utilizing state-of-the-art tools and processes to analyze engine systems under development and/or deployed throughout the world.

The candidate for this position will report to one of our Propulsion Systems Analysis managers supporting either our Commercial or Military Products. Typical duties and responsibilities are listed below and are executed under the guidance of a Sr. Engineer:

  • Analyzing engine data to determine system level and component level performance.
  • Creating and utilizing NPSS aero-thermal modeling code
  • Aircraft performance analysis
  • Assisting Sr. engineers in generation of presentations to internal and external customers.

This position offers the candidate an excellent opportunity to gain real world experience in the aero-thermal analysis of air breathing propulsion systems and offers an opportunity to develop close working experience with P&W's engineering development team.

This is an Intern position for May - August 2020, located in East Hartford, CT.

Do you meet these Basic Qualifications?

  • Candidates must be either a U.S. citizen or have Permanent Resident status.
  • You're in an accredited undergraduate or graduate engineering degree program.
  • Fields of study:Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • You will have at least 30 credits prior to starting your internship
  • You have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Completion of coursework in thermodynamics and/or aerodynamics is required.
