Armstrong World Industries (AWI) is seeking a Chemical Engineering Intern from May through mid-August, 2020 at our Ceiling Tile Manufacturing facility in Pensacola, FL. We are looking for candidates that have the technical savvy to understand our products, processes and test requirements.
Under the supervision and guidance of the Technical Services Manager or Production Value Stream Manager, projects will be focused on improvements to plant safety systems. Project work may be completed during your internship and/or will contribute to a larger ongoing project. The work assigned will be integral to plant goals and objectives. Plant management will be supportive during the internship and interested in results achieved. You will be responsible for summarizing the project and your results to the leadership team at the plant at the end of your internship. Thorough Safety Training will be provided and required.

About the Location (Pensacola, FL)
Our Pensacola Plant, one of eleven Armstrong plants in North America, employs 200+ people working on rotating shifts, 24/7, in the manufacture and shipment of acoustical ceiling tile to Armstrong's customers worldwide. The Pensacola Plant was originally built in 1929 to produce insulating building material.
Pensacola is the westernmost city in the Florida Panhandle. Pensacola is a sea port on Pensacola Bay, which is protected by 52 miles of sugar white barrier islands on the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. A large United States Naval Air Station, the first in the United States, is located southwest of the city and is the home of the Blue Angels flight demonstration team and the National Naval Aviation Museum.
Pensacola is nicknamed "The City of Five Flags", due to the five governments that have ruled it during its history.
