The TechnoServe Latin America & Caribbean Division (TNS LAC) has long-term country programs in 9 countries (Brazil, Chile, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, and Peru) and a diversified portfolio of 30 projects across various agricultural value chains and enterprise development. It is perhaps the most experimental and future-oriented operating division in TechnoServe, spanning countries that range from OECD member Chile to some of the most challenging operating contexts for in Central America.

Position Description

The LAC Intern will support the Associate Program Manager (APM) and Director of Operations to achieve TechnoServe's goals by ensuring effective knowledge management, divisional administration, new business development, and program management support. This part-time position is ideal for candidates who are looking for a fall opportunity with the possibility of having an extension. Starting date is flexible for the fall internship beginning in August. Key areas of responsibility are as follows:

Marketing and Communications

  • Manage the update process for LAC pages on TechnoServe's external website
  • Supervise the translation for the Spanish language website content
  • Support the development and publication of content to project-specific websites
  • Support the development of regional- and project-level marketing strategies and materials

Knowledge Management

  • Develop and maintain library of regional resources on gender and climate-smart practices, including designing and building LAC sections of intranet
  • Promote LAC use/participation in corporate sharing platforms by supporting webinar development, among other strategies
  • Support the development of informational tools and materials

Program Support and Divisional Administration

  • Support quarterly project status review process
  • Support planning and logistics for workshops
  • Support new business development through administrative support and relevant sector research
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Working toward a Bachelor's degree in International Development, Latin American studies, Spanish, English, Communications/Graphic Design, or related field
  • Interest in working in international development (Latin America), marketing, communications or business
  • Excellent writing, editing and communications skills
  • International study or work experience in Latin America preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Polished skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Enthusiastic self-starter; proven ability to work independently
  • Proven team player with strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a must
