GUEST SERVICES INTERN
DEPARTMENT: Guest Services
TYPE: Internship, Event Day Only
REPORTS TO: Operations Coordinator
DURATION: Summer through January 1st, 2020

Summary:
The Guest Services Internship at the Rose Bowl Stadium is implemented for
major event dates to foster the relationship between the stadium and its guests. This
position offers a point of contact for guests throughout the stadium, including
parking lots, concourse and premium areas. The Rose Bowl Stadium values the
input of its guests, as the stadium does its best to make our guests' experience as
enjoyable as possible.

Responsibilities:
Guest Services Interns will work directly with the Operations Coordinator to
compile a detailed list of suggestions, complaints and other fan experiences. Interns
will work all major events including all UCLA Football home games and Rose Bowl
Game. Therefore, the Rose Bowl Stadium is searching for some charismatic,
outgoing and fast learning candidates to help create a welcoming, fan-driven
environment that continues to improve the legacy of the Rose Bowl Stadium.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Provide excellent customer service to all stadium guests, maintaining a friendly and outgoing demeanor for the duration of an event
  • Ability to assist pre-week with various operational event related tasks and attend coordination meetings prior to the event, essential to being fully informed for an event
  • Proactively engage with guests throughout the stadium, demonstrating a welcoming environment and offering assistance when needed
  • Resolve guest issues as they arise, calmly and respectfully
  • Assist guests with any stadium-related inquires in person or via phone, text messaging system, and online chat
  • Speak loud and clear in front of crowds and groups of people, using a microphone, speaker system
  • Keep detailed records of any questions, incidents, text message complaints and concerns, or feedback from stadium guests via ISS 24/7
  • Maintain direct communication with stadium, janitorial and premium seating staff via radio communications
  • Possess a high level of knowledge of the facility, familiarizing one's self with all activations, vendors and operations occurring within the stadium
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Ideal candidate is pursuing a Bachelor or Graduate degree in Business, Sports
  • Management, Hospitality or other related field
  • Candidate should be self-motivated, organized, professional, outgoing and
  • detail oriented
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous customer service experience is a plus
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and work long hours while being outside in varying weather
  • Ability to lift items over 40 pounds
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to receive instruction for a task and properly execute the assigned
  • task with little to no supervision
  • Available to work some evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to attend a scheduled staff orientation day prior to the start of
  • the 2019 event season
  • Available for ALL Rose Bowl Stadium events
  • Public speaking experience is a plus
  • Bilingual is a plus

The following major events dates have been scheduled: 8/3, 8/22*, 9/7, 9/14, 10/5,
10/26, 11/2, 11/30, 1/1/20*. Dates are subject to change and additional events may be added during the season.

This position is essential to maintaining a great relationship between the Rose Bowl
Stadium, UCLA Athletics, various clients and its guests; therefore, dependability,
regular attendance and a high level of professionalism are critical to success in this
position.
