JOB SUMMARY: Assist Corps with day-to-day operations. In addition to typing, filing and scheduling, performs duties such as financial record keeping, payroll, coordination of meetings, obtaining supplies, and working on special projects. Also, answers non-routine correspondence and assembles highly confidential and sensitive information. Deals with a diverse group of important external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization.


High school graduate
Communicate well verbally and in writing.
Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel
Operate general office machines (copier, fax, etc.)
Maintain regular and punctual work attendance

  • Acts as a liaison with other departments and outside agencies, including high-level staff such as DC, DSB, and directors of each department (Finance, HR, Legal, Development)

  • Support Finance Department. Activities include: copying check requests and sending to accounts payable travel reimbursement, documenting corporate credit card expenses to corporate finance.

  • Organizing Agenda for Advisory board

  • Coordination and assist with Emergency Disaster Protocols

  • Coordinate Volunteers

  • Assist Corp with Programs and Seasonal Activities as needed

  • Effectively perform clerical and administrative support tasks

  • Maintain work area and files in an orderly manner

  • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions

  • Scan employee documents

  • Create new personnel files and maintain existing personnel files

  • General Department filing

  • Archive personnel files on a regular basis

  • File, photocopy and shred documents as necessary

  • Schedules and organizes meetings, travel, conferences and department activities for all members of the corps.

  • Establishes, develops, maintains and updates filing system.

  • Sorts and distributes mail..

  • Responds to regularly occurring requests for information.

  • Takes messages or fields/answers all routine and non-routine questions.

  • Handles confidential and non-routine information and explains policies when necessary.

  • Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects.

  • Types and designs general correspondences, memos, charts, tables, graphs, business plans, etc.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    The position requires sitting; climbing and/or balancing; stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, crouching and/or crawling; standing; walking; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; use of vision; driving a vehicle; pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds.

  • High school Diploma

  • Valid Hawaii driver's license

    AA degree or two years course work at a community college; familiar with The Salvation Army policies and procedures.

    Use office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, scanners, calculators, etc.
