    EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

    In this position, you will be responsible for performing administrative functions in support of FEMA Regional programs in one or more of the following areas: tracking of acquisitions, records management, ordering, purchasing, travel, and administrative policy
    review.

    Typical assignments include:

    • Examining incoming purchase requests, supply orders, or other acquisitions documents for completeness, including purchase request numbers, account codes, item description estimated costs, and quantities. Uploads into tracking system.
    • Making small purchases based on type of purchase, organizational structure (i.e. for a specific branch), or as required by need.
    • Managing records for branch and/or other organizational structure as needed. Tracks and maintains status of all regional procurements.
    • Serving as administrator in the use of Travel Authorization and Voucher preparation software to maintain employee records, passwords, supervisor approval hierarchies, and serves as an alternate preparer to assist employees in using the software to prepare and process Travel Authorizations and Vouchers.
