    About the Position: The incumbent serves as an Inventory Management Specialist in a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) with responsibility for analytical work in managing and controlling material. The incumbent will apply knowledge of systems, techniques, and underlying management concepts for determining, regulating, and/or controlling the level and flow of supplies or equipment from initial plan through acquisition, storage, issue, and utilization, or disposal.


    • Solve supply management problems and communicating solutions to others in the organization.
    • Interprets and applies governmental regulations, directives and policies for inventory management.
    • Prepare written analyses of activities and problems with recommendations for solutions.
    • Train new staff on supply system procedures.
    • Utilize standard inventory forms and documents used for transporting, shipping and receipt of supplies/materials.
    • Work with vendors to arrange product trials and new product roll outs.
    • Work with healthcare providers to find best balance of product quality and price.
    • tilize the procurement authorization process in order to ensure medical/non medical supplies are maintained properly.
    • Perform quality improvement performance measures to avoid inventory discrepancies.
    • Experience with rules and regulations of supply system, supply funding and related report requirements.
    • Research Inventory discrepancies and resolve issues.
    • Familiar with hospital/medical inventory storekeeping and warehousing practices and procedures.
    • Work with automated systems such as: General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS), Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF), Electronic document access (EDA), Purchase Card on-line system (PCOLS).
    • Use electronic data processing systems to accomplish daily operations.
    • Utilize automation systems for maintenance of acquisition records, reconciliation and accountability of supplies and equipment.
