Job Description
The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) is a public health preparedness
and emergency response organization in the Office of the Secretary at the United States Department of Health
and Human Services. ASPR was created under the Pandemic and All Hazards Preparedness Act in the wake of
Hurricane Katrina to lead the nation in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the adverse health effects
of public health emergencies and disasters. The Immediate Office (IO) is the executive leadership program
office within ASPR.

Responsibilities

o Coordinate requests for ASPR participation in meetings, workshops, and conferences
o Identify external stakeholders to participate in ASPR-sponsored meetings and other activities
o Identify new external stakeholder partnership opportunities
o Conduct thorough analysis and/or research relevant to ASPR programmatic topics
o Coordinate and execute logistical and other activities for ASPR-sponsored external stakeholder
meetings
o Assist in the coordination and preparation of talking points and PowerPoint presentations for
ASPR senior staff participation in external meetings, workshops, and conferences
o Assist in conducting an internal and external analysis of ASPR-related stakeholder engagement
opportunities; prepare analytical reports
o Assist in collecting and tracking external stakeholder engagements and inputting data in
database systems, as required
