The following internship opportunities are available for Bachelor Level students during the 2019-2020 academic year.
Riverbend has three residential programs offering safe, affordable and supportive housing with varying levels of care for adults living with severe and persistent mental illnesses. The programs provide support with activities of daily living, managing symptoms of mental illness and supporting/promoting healthy lifestyles and relationships. The programs provide support to residents that might otherwise face homelessness or institutionalization.
Description: The internship experience will allow for the opportunity to learn about the day to day operations of our residential programs and about the needs of adults with mental illness. The primary goal for interns will be to work on establishing therapeutic relationships with residential clients by observing and engaging with the residents and staff. Interns will have the opportunity to work within the different levels of care our programs provide, as well as to participate in our Step-Up to Wellness program and to participate in group therapy experiences. Other duties as decided upon with supervisor.
