Children's Home & Aid is pleased to provide students from accredited universities or colleges with the opportunity to apply their theoretical learning within a practical setting. We aim to offer deeply meaningful and individualized learning experiences to increase the knowledge and competence of those entering the early childhood education and social service fields. The Mitzi Freidheim Englewood Child & Family Center is NAEYC accredited and an ExceleRate Gold Circle of Quality center.
Early Childhood Teacher interns learn to assess children's development, create individualized learning plans and help children, 6 weeks to 5 years old, advance in all areas of development. Each intern shadows and assists the highly qualified teaching staff in a specific classroom, gaining experience and skills in assessment, teaching and classroom management. The Early Childhood Teacher internship is appropriate for students pursuing an internship/practicum experience for college credit towards an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
