Technical Support Internship - Public Works

The Marin County Department of Public Works, Service Agreements technical support team provides desktop support for Public Works, County Fire and the Community Development Agency.


We are currently recruiting for one, full-time position. The position does not offer benefits. The primary focus of this internship will be assisting the Service Agreements team by performing a wide variety of duties related to technical support for the Department of Public Works and Marin County Fire Department.
Tasks may include:

  • Assisting with Tech Lease PC replacement program
    • Imaging
    • Setup
    • Surplus
  • Assisting with PC Physical Inventory


Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university or be within one year of having graduated.

Students with an interest in computer science, or a related field are preferred. The successful candidate should have some knowledge or interest in desktop computers, the ability to communicate with staff in a team-oriented office environment.

Strong computer skills (especially with Microsoft Word and Excel), and an aptitude for learning new computer applications, is required.

Applicants must be enrolled in an academic, vocational curriculum, or graduate level program at a college or university, or is within one year of having graduated.

A valid California driver's license and satisfactory driving record.


Testing and eligible list:
Depending on the number of qualified applications received, testing may consist of a highly qualified review, supplemental application screening, skills testing, practical/performance test, written or oral examination or any combination of these exams to determine which candidate's names may be placed on the eligible list.
