Role and Responsibilities

As part of the Business Strategy & Analysis team, the Business Strategy Co-Op will support key phases of the Strategy & Business Development process with an emphasis on strategic planning, special growth initiatives, and market research projects. This includes developing knowledge of market/customer trends to be able to represent CAE USA in front of key decision makers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support Business Analysts as they gather competitive and customer intelligence
  • Support the team in the development of the annual CAE USA Strategic Plan which establishes our strategic business objectives and tactics for achieving market share growth
  • Assist meeting logistics coordination to include preparing agendas, booking travel arrangements, picking event locations and developing expense/trip reports
  • Support pipeline and database management (via Salesforce.com and SharePoint)
  • Serve as the point of contact for the Strategy and Business Development group that includes representation support at shows/industry events
  • Maintain office supply inventory, check stock to determine inventory level, anticipate needed supplies, place and expedite supply orders and verify receipt of supplies
  • Participate in Planning/Coordination of team activities and employee engagement projects

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Working towards a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), business related specialty or equivalent discipline
  • Professional presence; confident, well spoken, articulate, and organized.
  • Exhibit high performance and capability to work in a team environment
  • Customer service oriented, strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work with minimal supervision

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries and complaints.
  • Ability to generate effective oral and written presentations and proposals.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as prices, commissions, and percentages, and to draw and interpret graphs.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication and to deal with a variety of abstract ideas.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management systems like Salesforce.com
  • Experience with folder sharing systems like SharePoint
  • Interest in the Defense & Aerospace industry
  • Willingness to learn new procedures and applications

Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance

Work Environment

  • Work in a regular office environment; communicate via telephone
  • Occasional domestic travel
