    GS-12: Salary: $74,596 (Step 01) to $96,978 (Step 10)

    GS-13: Salary: $88,704 (Step 01) to $115,313 (Step 10)

    NOTE: First time hires to the Federal Government are typically hired at the Step 01.

    As a Research Physical Scientist or Research Geographer within the Earth Resource Observation Science Center (EROS), some of your specific duties will include:

    • Developing improved approaches for assessing land change at frequent time intervals.
    • Conducting Land Change Monitoring, Assessment, and Project (LCMAP) research using Landsat time series data to improve our understanding of regional to national land change processes.
    • Conducting research and exploratory analysis as part of a multi-disciplinary team to help understand rates and trends in land changes.
    • Designing and developing techniques and methods for the validation function of data collected for archival and any and all processed data distributed from system architecture.
    • Serving as the project science communication advocate to communicate LCMAP project direction and status to the Earth Science and the remote sensing communities.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Approximately 3-5 nights each month.
