  • Has a full time staff to manage all physician orders, insurance companies and other support you need while you focus on meeting the needs of your clients. We offer continuing education and support a collaborative approach with all therapies involved with each child.

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) performs physical therapy services planned, delegated and supervised by a PT to patients requiring these services in their own home. The PTA participates in teaching patients and family members how to perform various exercises, use assistive equipment and to follow the care plan. He/she maintains knowledge of current physical therapy trends, techniques and innovations to meet the needs of his/her patients. The PTA upholds regulatory standards and Jordan Health Services policies. The PTA performs all duties in accordance with physician's orders and under the direction and supervision of the PT.

Patient Care: Component Proportion 80%

  • Treats physical therapy patients to relieve pain, develop or restore functional ability and/or maintain maximum performance.
  • Instructs each physical therapy patient, their family members, or agency staff on the established plan of care.
  • Directs and aids each physical therapy patient in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education and functional training activities of daily living.
  • Instructs each physical therapy patient in the care and use of prosthetic or orthotic devices.
  • Aids in the development of new programs for the provision of patient care as well as physical therapy services.
  • Follows and implements the agency's policies and procedures regarding infection control and safety measures.
  • Performs all duties/projects as assigned.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned.

Administrative: Component Proportion 20%

  • Exhibits, maintains and serves as a role model of the high ethical standards among the clinical staff and within the entire JHS organization.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, patient care conferences and in-services, as necessary.
  • Prepares progress notes for each visit on his/her patients in a timely manner as per agency policy.
  • Understands, adheres to, and performs all duties in accordance with established agency policies and procedures.
  • Maintains availability at all times during his/her scheduled hours of work, either in person or by telecommunications.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement programs, as assigned.
  • Attends training sessions, workshops and seminars, as necessary.
  • Maintains current knowledge of physical therapy practice as pertinent to the job and is responsible for his/her own continuing education.

Other duties/projects as assigned.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience

  • Must be a graduate of a two (2) year college-level program approved by the State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
  • Must be currently licenses in the State of Oklahoma as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • One (1) year experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred.
  • Must be eligible for membership in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
  • Experience in home health preferred.

  • Must have satisfactory references from previous employers.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal history check and OIG screenings.
  • Must be able to pass a random drug test.
  • Must have a dependable vehicle and a valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements

  • Heavy Lifting.
  • Ability to participate in physical activity.
  • Ability to do extensive bending, lifting and standing on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work for extended period of time while standing and being involved in physical activity.
