Summary/Objective:

Within the Bank's policies and procedures and general industry practices, and in accordance with applicable regulations and
objectives, the position of Commercial Loan Coordinator (CLC) primarily supports the lending function of the Commercial Relationship Officers and Commercial Relationship Assistants in support of a growing commercial loan portfolio. The purpose of this position is to achieve the accurate and timely preparation of commercial loan documentation, in cooperation with the CRO/CRA, prospective Borrower, title companies, and closing attorneys.

The Commercial Loan Coordinator will be responsible for accurately managing commercial loan documentation through our established systems. This position will have extensive contact with the Commercial Loan Operations Department, Loan Administration and Commercial Credit Department. Additionally, this position will support the Commercial Lending Team with portfolio management and
correspondence as it relates to financial statement gathering and account maintenance.

Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with Commercial Relationship Officer (CRO) in obtaining a complete package for Credit Department to underwrite the loan request.
  • Interact with Bank departments and personnel, insurance agents, attorneys, and customers for information needed to document loans.
  • Perform credit checks, OFAC checks, and other due diligence on prospective commercial borrowers
  • Perform UCC searches, order property reports, and flood certifications. Order title work from attorneys when needed.
  • Prepare and Review commercial loan documentation using the Bank's Document Preparation Software (LaserPro), ensuring banking regulations are followed.
  • Assist CRO with reviewing attorney-prepared documents, deeds, title insurance, and fee disbursements ensuring a smooth loan closing process.
  • Complete the commercial loan data entry worksheet so that the loan may be properly loaded onto the Bank's Loan Accounting System (LAS).
  • Organize all loan files in an orderly fashion making sure that all necessary loan documentation is present and complete prior to forwarding to the Commercial Operations Department.
  • Assist lending department as needed to follow-up with clearing post-closing loan exceptions, line of credit renewals, insurance cancellations, etc.

Other Duties:

  • Review maturing loans and expiring commitment reports, taking appropriate action as necessary.
  • Assist CRO's with requests for financial statements on existing customers and assist Credit Analysts in the annual review of commercial lines of credit and committed lines.
  • Assist CRO's in the collection of routine delinquencies by generating correspondence or making phone contact.
  • Produce various reports as requested (monthly reports, new loan sheets and officer call reports).
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Competencies:
Computer literacy- Functional familiarity with all aspects of Windows applications and navigation as well as competency with Microsoft Office products. Capability to learn LaserPro, Accusystems and Premier in a timely and sufficient manner.

Character - This position requires a person that is very customer-oriented, highly motivated and possesses strong clerical skills as
well as organizational abilities and attention to detail. It also requires a person with the ability to prioritize work and maintain a fast-paced work schedule.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Some flexibility in hours is necessary based on the location assignments, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and must work 40.00 hours each week to maintain full-time status.

Travel:

Travel for this position is limited to travel for meetings/training.

Required Education and Experience:

High school graduate or equivalent.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Minimum three years' experience in loan administration functions. At least two years of commercial lending or related experience is preferred.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Strong clerical skills, good communication skills and professional appearance are necessary for this position. Proficiency with a computer,
adding machine, copier, fax machine, and other office equipment are required.
