The Molecular & Genomic Pathology Laboratory at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital is a fast paced lab with a comprehensive menu for molecular oncology and virology. The Lab provides cutting edge molecular assays for clinical diagnostics. Technologies employed include real-time PCR, fragment analysis, Sanger sequencing, and next generation sequencing.
Primary responsibility will be performing clinical molecular assays.
Operate diagnostic analytical equipment to generate reliable and timely laboratory results to facilitate patient care management.
Perform laboratory analysis following documented procedures. Verify and report laboratory findings in a timely and accurate fashion. Follow all established regulations related to specimen processing, QC, lab safety, etc. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.
We are seeking a highly motivated medical technologist with 2 plus years of experience in a clinical lab, ideally in a lab performing PCR based molecular assays. Candidates with molecular biology MB ASCP certification will be preferred.
