Job Description

Purpose

Under the direction of the Web Communications Manager, the Web Production Intern is responsible for conducting web standard and best-practice audits, building and maintaining web pages, maintaining data quality, assisting in the development and maintenance of digital media boards and performing related projects as assigned by the manager.

Primary Functions

  • Maintain web content within Content Management Systems (CMS) in alignment with MCW's brand and web standards.
  • Collaborate on web page design and layout of MCW public and internal websites by working with graphic designers, communications consultants and web authors.
  • Respond to help desk inquiries and support web editors.
  • Support Digital Marketing initiatives by compiling data.
  • Coordinate digital display boards and the integration of web publishing system content.
  • Add, modify and expire data from various systems.
  • Participate in integrated project teams for institutional or departmental initiatives.
  • Collaborate with peers to align communications approaches and messaging with web channels.

Position Requirements:

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities

  • Interest in digital marketing and contributing to a connected digital ecosystem.
  • Working knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems a plus, but not required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to decipher technical information.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with supervisor and co-workers.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

Specifications

Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis

Minimum Required Education: Student must be in good academic standing as an upperclassman in a bachelor's level program or in a graduate level program in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications or related field preferred.

Minimum Required Experience: Experience in creating, maintaining and optimizing web pages in Content Management Systems and maintaining records in Customer Relationship Management systems preferred but not required.
