Job Purpose: Learn the basics of offshore geotechnical engineering and develop the skills necessary to prepare structural foundation and pipe-soil interaction design calculations. Will work under the direction of a geotechnical engineer and /or Supervisor.

Responsibilities:
  • Learn the basics of offshore geotechnical engineering - taking instruction from, and working with, a goetechnical engineer or Supervisor
  • Assist in the preparation of calculations, tools, reports, and specifications, and help develop sketches and drawings associated with offshore geotechnical engineering work
  • Attend meetings, if requested, to present analysis findings;
  • Assist in preparing technical reports and guidelines

Qualified Applicants Should have:
  • Education Requirements: Within one year of graduating with Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering;
  • Technical Qualificiations: Knowledge of soils, foundation design, and the basics of soil-structure interactions;
  • Softskill Qualifications: Good communication, writing, and presentation skills, and an excellent work ethic and work attitude; organizational skills and being a team player are a must;
  • Additional Qualifications: Willingness to learn and become familiar with U.S. and international design codes and practices used for offshore offshore geotechnical engineering;

Preferred Qualifications: Be within 1 year of graduation with Bachelor's degree
  • Familiar with Abaqus, ANSYS, or other types of finite-element software; Some exposure to MathCad software is a plus;
  • Must be willing to learn new software

Job Purpose: Learn the basics of offshore pipeline engineering and develop the skills necessary to prepare mechanical pipeline design calculations related to: pipeline route selection, wall thickness design, on-bottom stability analysis, free span analysis, expansion analysis, and cathodic protection design. Will work under the direction of a pipeline engineer and /or Supervisor.

Job Duties:
  • Learn the basics of offshore pipeline engineering - taking instruction from, and working with, a pipeline engineer or Supervisor
  • Assist in the preparation of calculations, tools, reports, and specifications, and help develop sketches and drawings associated with offshore pipeline engineering work
  • Assist in providing procurement support related to pipeline design and installation engineering, including aiding in the generation of material take-offs, cost estimates, scopes of work, and the provision of technical clarifications;
  • Attend meetings as necessary to present analysis findings;
  • Assist in preparing technical reports for validation of calculation results and soundness of conclusions and recommendations.

Qualified Applicants:
  • Education Requirements: Within one year of graduating with Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Ocean Engineering;
  • Softskill Qualifications: Good communication, writing, and presentation skills, and an excellent work ethic and work attitude; organizational skills and being a team player are a must;
  • Additional Qualifications: Willingness to learn and become familiar with U.S. and international design codes and practices used for offshore pipeline engineering;
