Job Description

ECS is seeking a FPGA Programmer Intern to work in our Chantilly, VA office.

Job Description:
FPGA Firmware engineer and software developer: To develop firmware and software for the Radar Physics Group product line.

This position will be a full-time position for the Summer of 2019. If the applicant's schedule supports part-time work during the 2019-2020 school year, the position will be converted to part time through May 2020. There is potential, but no promise or guarantee, that this position could lead to a full-time offer upon completion of a BS in Computer Engineering.

Required Skills:

  • Pursuing BS in Computer Engineering
  • Languages: Java, C, VHDL,C++, Python, MIPS assembly, MATLAB
  • Tools: Xilinx Vivado and SDK, PSPICE, Intellij, PyCharm, SSH, Linux terminal, GitHub
  • Operating Systems: Windows 10, Linux (Ubuntu), Linux (Raspberry Pi) 3 B
  • Hardware: Circuit building, Oscilloscope testing, FPGA programming and prototyping, interfacing
  • peripherals, embedded systems w/ microprocessor and Raspberry Pi
  • Relevant Courses: FPGA and ASIC Design with VHDL, Embedded Systems and Hardware
  • Interface, Data Structure, Operating Systems, Computer Organization and Architecture, Object
  • Oriented Programming

Desired Skills:

  • FPGA Prototyping (VHDL, C++, BASYS 3)
  • Designed and implemented ASM charts, datapaths, and controllers for Simon Says, Julia set, and
  • Pacman
  • Developed effective testbenches to ensure circuits operate correctly
  • Utilized Xilinx SDK to create applications that use C++ as the driver to VHDL hardware cores
