Job Description
SUMMARY:
The QA Intern primary responsibilities are to perform support functions in the quality department including 1st piece, in-process and final inspection of complex components. Performs inspection and quality control procedures with regard to purchased material, in-process material and finished products to assure that quality control standards and manufacturing specifications are achieved. Approve items within specifications and prepares documentation of items not meeting standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inspect incoming materils & parts from customers by means of visual and mechanical tools

Provide in-process inspection of each production operation to perform documentation audit for completeness prior to release of job to subsequent production operations

Complete finished products inpection prior to release to shipping. Inspect finished products by confirming parts are in conformance to all drawing charactertics & specifications

Uses a variety of conventional and advanced inspection devices to verify dimensions to drawing specifications

Prepares products and related paperwork for presentation to customer or source inspection. Maintain records, data and information as required in the quality system

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

There are no supervisory responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have working knowledge and application for geometric dimension and tolerance

Proficient at reading and understanding blueprints, sketches and detailed parts specifications

Inspector must be proficient in basic computer applications

Must possess good communication skills

CMM programming or experience preferred

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Must have high school dipolman or equilvant

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blueprints.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before employees in the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Have the knowledge of and/or the ability to learn shop geometry and trigonometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram forms.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The employee is occasionally exposed to moderate cold and extreme heat.

The noise level in the work environment is usually middling.
