SALT LAKE CITY EVENTS INTERN

Hours: 20 Hrs/Wk

ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW

Feeding Children Everywhere (FCE) is a non-profit organization that ‘activates people for a hunger-free world'. To date, FCE has distributed over 100 million meals to hungry people across the globe and has mobilized over 600,000 volunteers.

The organization focuses efforts around addressing hunger and the root causes. The program vehicles include:

  • Hunger Projects - high energy corporate, church or civic social responsibility events that mobilize thousands of volunteers across the US to hand-package healthy meals for hungry people

  • Full Cart - a meal delivery service for hard-working individuals and families to extend their grocery budget and connect them with life-changing career resources

  • Disaster Relief - a program that activates people to package disaster relief meal kits in immediate response to natural disasters

  • International Development - community transformation projects that include the improvement of education, agriculture, women's health initiatives and economic development

  • Micro-Farming - community farming efforts that make nutrient-rich foods accessible in food desserts

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is the face, life, and the enthusiasm of Feeding Children Everywhere. As an event intern, you have the amazing opportunity to lead Hunger Projects, both big and small, all over the United States.

This internship gives you the opportunity to learn the ins-and-outs of nonprofit event management, relationship development, and volunteer management. Duties include interacting with clients and volunteers in a professional manner, coordinating project setup and breakdown, helping manage project teams, and emceeing at projects as needed.

This is a mobile position that is 100% travel based, both locally and across the U.S. You will have regular meetings with your Intern manager and event team, as well as bi-weekly meetings with the intern department. An open schedule will set you up for success with this position and an eager, independent, work ethic will help you thrive.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

First and foremost, empowering, mobilizing, and connecting with PEOPLE.

  • Traveling across the US to lead large volunteer projects

  • Leading pre-event setup & post event break down

  • Emceeing and public speaking during volunteer events

  • Training volunteers as a table captain

  • Nonprofit Event and Volunteer management

  • Connecting with event host/volunteers ensuring excellent customer service

  • Complete post-event action reports

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • YOU WANT TO SEE THE WORLD: 100% travel-based position and availability to work 20 hours/week
