TITLE: P3 & 4 Pharmacy Intern -
DEPARTMENT: Old Town Clinic
SCHEDULE: .2 FTE Schedule To Be Determined
SALARY: $20.00/Hour

SUMMARY: The Pharmacy Intern provides support to the Pharmacist in the processing of prescriptions and maintenance of the Pharmacy Department.

Pharmacy Intern Duties
1. Perform all duties necessary to ensure the safe and accurate preparation of medications, including gathering patient information, entering it into the computer system, counting and pouring medications, and labeling containers.
2. Process refill requests for providers using the refill protocol.
3. Perform consultations for patients.
4. Maintain excellent customer service, including answering questions from patients, answering phones, processing refill requests, and responding to questions from staff and patient care team.
5. Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security. Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners' and outside providers' patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access. This includes immediately reporting any breach of protected health information or personal identification information of any person receiving CCC services by CCC or an outside provider to the CCC Compliance Department, as well as to your supervisor or their designee.
6. Attend all mandatory CCC trainings in a timely manner.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.
Leadership and Planning Duties
8. Support patient safety by assisting pharmacist with medication management protocols.
9. Promote adherence by consulting patients, performing drug utilization reviews, reviewing returns to stock, and communicating trends with providers.
10. Foster team spirit in a collaborative care setting with a diverse provider and patient population.
11. Actively contribute to the evaluation and continuous improvement of Pharmacy Department objectives and goals.
12. Facilitate the development and implantation of new pharmacy services.

1. Methods and techniques of pharmacy operation.
2. Prioritize workflow, remain flexible and possess willingness to learn.
3. Ability to work as a team.
4. Knowledge of computer systems.
5. Principles and procedures of record keeping and reporting.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

1. Current registration with the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern.
2. Must meet CCC privileging requirements as required by FTCA.
3. Currently certified to provide CPR and immunizations.
4. Prior experience in an outpatient pharmacy setting preferred.
5. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and lift objects and climb stairs several times per day.
6. Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform duties.
7. Must pass pre-employment screen, TB test, and background check.
8. If a recovering chemically dependent person, must be in an on-going program of recovery with 2 years demonstrated level of sobriety.
