Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Geologist/Engineer for employment in the Piscataway, NJ office to support field operations for environmental investigations, remediation implementation and performance monitoring for various clients in New Jersey and New York. The ideal candidate will have prior experience drilling, soil logging, well installation and soil, groundwater and vapor sample collection. Additionally, this candidate will be willing and able to learn new skills on challenging field assignments in a team work environment

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Field document preparation, field data collection, processing and interpretation.

+ Conducting environmental field work, including soil logging, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging and oversight of field surveys, drilling, well installation, development operations and utility clearance for intrusive operations.

+ Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.

+ Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.

+ Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories.

+ Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

+ Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.

Minimum Requirements

+ BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

+ Valid US Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

+ Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Earth Sciences or Engineering

+ 0-2 years' experience in environmental consulting or related field

+ Demonstrated technical writing abilities

+ Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software

+ Ability to travel regionally for short-term overnight assignments

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Training

+ Remedial investigation, remediation planning, or design experience

+ Contractor oversight experience

+ Construction inspection experience

+ Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models or other drainage and water modeling software)

+ Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills
