Do you live in your text editor? Are you always on the lookout for a killer new Javascript library on npm? The Joint Quantum Institute is seeking a Javascript developer to join our science communication team. The GA will primarily help build a web application aimed at explaining quantum physics to informal learners. Support for this position is through an NSF Advancing Informal STEM Learning program. This 20-hour-per-week position has a flexible schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current UMCP graduate student;
  • Familiarity with the Node ecosystem;
  • Experience building websites with React;
  • Knowledge of Webpack or a similar bundling tool;
  • Comfort with a Github workflow;
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues independently;
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills;
  • Excellent time-management skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with Javascript testing frameworks;
  • An eye for design
