Job Description

SomaLogic is a privately-owned biomedical science company that developed a revolutionary proteomics technology capable of measuring thousands of different human proteins in a single small sample. We are now moving towards commercializing the health-related information derived from that technology to help people worldwide proactively manage their health for life. As a part of our commercialization effort, we are seeking additional expertise to join our dedicated team of scientists, bioinformaticians, statisticians, and software developers to help us realize that vision.

The Marketing Intern will spend the summer defining several markets that SomaLogic might enter. This critical piece of work will include researching product-level competitors, uncovering the alignment between product opportunity and customer needs, and quantifying the size of the addressable market.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research across identified diseases and conditions
  • Establish market sizes, total addressable and attainable market sizes, as well as defending assumptions for market share
  • Identify areas of opportunity for SOMAscan® tests
  • Develop profiles for competitive products and tests
  • Contribute to financial modeling and voice of customer surveys and interviews

Education

A liberal arts undergraduate degree is preferred with some coursework towards a Master's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field

Skills and experience

  • All interns must be at least 18 years of age as of their start dates
  • Strong deductive and analytic skills
  • Experience cranking through spreadsheets, documenting assumptions, and giving presentations of findings
  • Proven research skills and prior experience developing market profiles
  • Excellent communication skills in writing and verbally
  • Familiarity and experience using MS Office suite

Work Environment:

Work is in a typical office environment with extended time at a computer.
