A Summer Camp Operations Intern is geared towards anyone considering careers or looking to gain experience in the fields of education, camp operations, recreation management, arts management, management and/or looking for field experience in all facets of running a specialized summer camp business. With The Handwork Studio, you will learn best practices by working alongside our regional managers onsite at a variety of locations within a defined region. We have openings in the Washington D.C., New York/New Jersey and Philadelphia regions.
Completed 2 years of college education preferably in the area of management, business, entrepreneurship, recreation management, arts management or equivalent experience and interest.
Must be in the Washington D.C., New York/New Jersey or Philadelphia region
Previous leadership experience
Experience working with children
Must be receiving educational credit for the internship
Can successfully be cleared of state required background checks
Ability to travel between locations in your specific region.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Support all aspects of camp, especially behind-the-scenes operations and programming.
Work closely with Regional Manager in your respective region.
Provide leadership, energy and camp spirit and culture for campers and HWS team members
Constantly assessing group dynamics and the needs of individuals
Support classroom activity as needed
Set, work toward, and achieve measurable professional development goals
Provide excellent customer service to families by communicating with a positive, professional, and fun attitude
Unpaid, for college credit.
General supervision, ongoing observation, and evaluation is provided by your Regional Camp Manager and Executive Director.
