Job Description

The Child Study Center at NYU Langone Health is looking for an energetic, self-motivated and driven board certified/board eligible child and adolescent psychiatrist for our Manhattan office. This is a full-time position predominately focused in clinical care with opportunities for teaching and other academic endeavors. This is an exciting opportunity to join a robust team of individuals who enjoy collaborative, interdisciplinary work and the training of graduate and post graduate physicians, psychologists and social workers. The psychiatrist will report directly to the Medical Director of the Faculty Group Practice.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Evaluating of new patients with in-person and written feedback in a timely manner
  • Providing psychopharmacological treatment of children, adolescents and adults
  • Providing evidence-based psychotherapeutic treatments to children, adolescents and their families
  • Initiating and/or participating in clinical trials
  • Providing consultation to schools and other community institutions
  • Meeting all on-call and coverage responsibilities for the clinical practice and for the Department including call to Bellevue
  • Supervising and teaching of residents, medical students and other trainees assigned by the directors of each site
  • Providing outreach to the professional and lay community through providing presentations at schools, community agencies as well as leading workshops at the Child Study Center ("CSC");
  • Participating in continuing education such as weekly Case Conference and Grand Rounds
  • Completing additional responsibilities, as required

Requirements and expectations:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of health care professionals
  • Strong dedication to workplace mentorship, education and team-based care
  • Graduate of a medical school approved by the New York State Education Department
  • Completion of approved residency in Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Must be license eligible in New York by start date of position. Candidates who are currently licensed preferred
  • Board Certified in Psychiatry and Board Certified/Board eligible in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
