Dell is seeking a candidate for an Experience Design Lead to be part of the Experience Design Group in Austin, TX.

This Experience Design Lead is a hybrid role that encompasses skills in Design Strategy, UX/IU, Visual Design and Industrial Design to concept and bring to life new product experiences. This role acts as the Design Lead in a cross disciplinary innovation team, responsible for concepting and delivering prototypes, providing creative directions, and facilitating user experience design deliverables across ‘future experience' initiatives including: ideation, building design stimuli for research, user-flow & task analysis, journey mapping, interaction design, prototyping, visual design, product design, branding and execution. The individual ensures that, these experiences achieve the highest level of usability, desirability and customer satisfaction. In this role, the designer will be asked to carry products from concept to prototype to development using their abilities to distill complex problems into elegant, intuitive, and user-friendly designs leveraging their knowledge and history with user experience concepts, creating information architectures, developing and applying design languages and systems, while delivering the appropriate content to development partners (wireframes, workflows, interactive prototypes, behavioral and visual specifications, redlines, etc.). Furthermore, this individual will participate in cross-functional teams and drive initiatives that define the future of experience and technology, setting a vision for the broader organization.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and 12+ years' relevant experience or Graduate degree in a related field, plus 8+ years' relevant experience.
  • Submission of portfolio link or attachment with application/resume
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset. This role is about creating and driving innovative ideas. A strong drive to create and deliver new ideas is a must. Tenacity and Adaptability to seek out alternatives and find new ways of solving problems or expressing an idea are critical to this person's success.
  • Deep experience with product design and development, ideally across both Hardware and Software..
  • Strong skillset in digital design with an emphasis on Windows, mobile (iOS/Android), and web User Interfaces
  • Deeply knowledgeable of and proactive driving the latest trends in visual and interactive design
  • Expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (primarily XD, Photoshop, Illustrator) and related design tools (e.g., InVision, Figma, Zeplin)
  • Exceptional communication skills - verbal, written, and experience engaging with stakeholders, executive leadership, customers, business analysts, and media representatives
  • Ability to process and integrate design research - usability studies, reports, trends, user personas and related information - into design solutions and deliverables

Preferred

  • Ability to create interactive prototypes
  • Expertise with motion graphics, animation, and video production
  • Ability to illustrate by hand for storyboarding, scenarios, UI sketches, & wireframes
  • Knowledge specific to consumer electronics products and architectures, and familiarity with common product construction materials and processes, and technical hardware
