PSM Coordinator

ColonialWebb is seeking experienced PSM professionals and recent college graduates interested in continuing/pursuing a career in the Process Safety Management industry! As our PSM Coordinator, you ll learn how to develop process safety management programs for refrigeration systems commonly found in food distribution centers, cold storage, and food processing facilities.

As you learn the ropes from experienced PSM Coordinators, you ll gain first-hand knowledge of the Process Safety Management industry, develop an understanding of best practices that prevent incidents, collaborate with customers to develop strategies that increase safety preparedness, and perform on-site audits to ensure customer facilities are compliant and safe.

  • Primary regional footprint: Central Virginia.
  • Daily travel to customer facilities and ColonialWebb offices located in Harrisonburg, VA; Richmond, VA; and Norfolk, VA is routine.
  • Overnight travel of +/- (3) nights per week to other areas in our footprint (NC, SC, TN, GA, etc.) can be expected.

What you ll do:

  • Cultivate lasting relationships with industrial refrigeration customers by demonstrating safety and compliance expertise while delivering incredible service.
  • Collaborate and support our business development team by notifying them of potential new business opportunities that are available to current customers.
  • Consult with customers to assess and develop plans, systems, and training that will increase safety preparedness and compliance within their facility.
  • Conduct site visits to customer facilities for Process Safety Management projects such as:
    • Mechanical Integrity Audits
    • Compliance Audits
    • Process Hazard Analysis
    • Management of Change
    • Standard Operating Procedures
  • Serve as safety/compliance liaison on behalf of ColonialWebb for customers who are subject to inspection from OSHA and other federal, state, and local agencies.

What we re looking for:

  • Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Health and Safety, Emergency Management, or other related engineering and safety and health degree programs.
  • Demonstrated skills, experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Ability to utilize judgment to make decisions, independently.
  • High energy level to handle dynamic, evolving, and fast-paced workload.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, coordinate, and perform multiple tasks accurately and promptly.
  • Detail oriented, with excellent organization and follow-up skills.

Process Safety Management (PSM):
Our PSM department focuses on consulting relationships with specialized large, industrial customers within the cold storage, food distribution, and food processing industries. Among other services, we provide customers advising, training, lead compliance reviews, perform safety inspections, and create checklists and development plans about customer specific plant environmental safety programs. PSM is a department within our Industrial Refrigeration business. We are experts in refrigeration repair, refrigeration cooling equipment, refrigeration compressors, ammonia refrigeration and refrigeration equipment supply and maintenance contracts for commercial and industrial systems. We help our customers feed the world.
