Leprino Foods' history dates back over 65 years, when Jim Leprino first started making small batches of mozzarella for local markets and eateries in the Little Italy neighborhood of Denver. We've grown a bit since then. Today, Leprino is the largest manufacturer of mozzarella and lactose in the world, and a leading producer of whey protein. For our Denver, CO corporate headquarters we are seeking an Intern - Culinary to continue moving our organization to even larger levels of innovation, consumer insights, and new product development. Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to the culinary team in the preparation and execution of internal customer showings, presentations and daily culinary activities.
  • Maintain test kitchen and equipment in a clean and efficient working manner.
  • Provide culinary support for internal meetings and corporate-sponsored events.
  • Assist culinary team during the food and menu ideation and development process to help innovate, write concepts, create recipes and develop prototypes utilizing Leprino's cheese and nutrition products.
  • Help manage and maintain a food ingredient and culinary supplies inventory.
  • Assist culinary team in product or sample shipping and receiving as required.
  • Support the culinary team with the research, evaluation, development, and dissemination of food and ingredient trend presentations, treks and food explorations.
  • Partner with the Culinary Team on creation and execution of food trend presentations for internal teams

Qualifications

The Right Candidate Will Have (Minimum Qualifications):

  • High school degree required.
  • Culinary school graduate or current Culinary, Culinary Nutrition, Culinary Science, Baking or Pastry student.
  • Strong culinary and food science knowledge required.
  • Evening hours sometimes required.

  • Must be able to taste & consume culinary work including wheat and dairy products.

  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, & vehicle insurance required.

We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Solid knowledge of Food Safety principles, ServeSafe certification preferred.
