VCBR, a facility specializing in the recovery opportunities and support of individuals who have been deemed to be Sexually Violent Predators (SVPs) and having been civilly committed, is seeking a Psychologist II to work in the Forensic Services / Psychology Department. This position's purpose is to promote the organizational objective of the psychology department through the provision of quality psychological evaluations, risk assessments, direct treatment services, and professional consultation thereby fostering the adaptive functioning of residents and reducing the risk sexual offensive recidivism.

The Psychologist II must have excellent written communication skills; thorough knowledge of psychopathology and its treatment, models of behavior change and management, the psychotherapeutic process, and models of personality development; knowledge of and experience with a broad range of psychological assessment instruments, particularly as they relate to a forensic setting; experience with actuarial assessment techniques unique to forensic and sex offender populations; familiarity with individual differences and with psychological regulatory processes affecting individual and interpersonal functioning; familiarity with relevant ethical and professional standards of practice in an inpatient setting; good oral communication skills and an ability to deliver presentations and/or training modules to individuals with varying levels of professional development; and the ability to assist with program development projects including measuring efficacy of new programming.
