Job Description

As assistant professor of computer science, this position is responsible for teaching major and courses within the computer science program, advising, initiating new programs and conducting committee work as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teaches 27 hours, as assigned, annually within the Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences.
  • Serves as the academic advisor for departmental majors.
  • Initiate and develop new programs within the Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences.
  • Serves on university committees as assigned.
  • Attends daily Chapel.
  • Participates in university recruitment activities.
  • This job description shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, the above duties. This position may temporarily perform other duties assigned to maintain operations and services.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will hold a Masters degree in Computer Science or related field. Expertise in 3 or more of the following fields is strongly preferred:

  • Programming Proficiency
    • C/C++, C#, Java, JavaScript
    • Introductory Programming
  • Data Structures & Algorithms
  • System Administration
  • Software Engineering
  • Parallel Computing
  • Computer Architecture
  • Computational Theory
  • Database
  • Gaming
  • Big Data
  • Cybersecurity
