    This announcement is Open Continuous and will be open for 6 months or until filled as part of the VA's Mental Health Hiring Initiative. Resumes will be pulled every 30 days or until filled.


    As a Licensed Provider for the Department of Veterans Affairs, you will practice independently in the provision of psychological services, engage in professional and scientific work which relates to behavior, capacities, personality, interests, emotions and mental with peers and supervisors as appropriate.

    Major duties and responsibilities include:

    Main responsibilities:
    Provide psychological services through primarily face to face modalities, together with tele-health modalities or via clinical telehealth to home as needed to support other locations.
    Provide a full range of psycho-diagnostic and psychological assessment services, including (if needed) neurocognitive screening assessments. Develop, implement and document psychotherapeutic treatment plans for a full range of adult Veterans.
    Provide a full range of therapeutic interventions including individual therapy, group therapy, and psycho-education classes. Best practices, practice guidelines and evidence-based treatment protocols are utilized to the extent feasible in all therapeutic interventions.
    Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services to Veterans if needed.
    Consult with medical center staff on a wide variety of Veteran care issues, including Veteran's decision-making capacity regarding health care.
    Attend and participate in administrative and informational meetings held by the Behavioral VA Health Care Line, Chief of Staff and Psychology Chief (or duly appointed designees).
    Provide didactic training to psychology predoctoral interns, and supervise the General Mental Health rotation of the internship rotation set.
    Serve as consultant to other medical center staff and trainees and assists in their understanding of the psychological characteristics and appropriate treatment expectations regarding their Veteran caseload.
    Serve on Medical Center or Healthcare System, VISN, and/or National VA committees or task forces, as assigned.
    Represents the Grand Island VA or Healthcare System at professional/program community group/events and committees, as assigned.

    Work Schedule: Full time. Monday-Friday 0800 to 1630, rotation for Saturday clinic (approximately once every 2 months) as needed.
