Texas Center for Proton Therapy (Texas Oncology) is searching for a Staff Radiation Therapist. The Staff Radiation Therapist position is 100% clinical with direct involvement in daily treatment delivery and after appropriate tenure, cross training for diagnostic imaging and simulation (CT, PETCT and MRI).

Job Description:

  • Accurately delivers and records radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist, Lead Radiation Therapist, Physicist and Clinical Director.
  • Accurately enters and maintains patient treatment parameters into electronic medical record. –When appropriate, participates in clinical instruction of newly hired therapists and students.
  • Collaboratively maintains patient appointment schedule.
  • Responsible for submitting correct billing information and appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Accurately cuts blocks and makes custom molds, when applicable.
  • Accurately interprets a computerized treatment plan.
  • Maintains clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Will be required to have appropriate time management skills to ensure that given patient treatment times are met each day.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Will be required to rotate shifts (AM/PM) on a weekly basis along with rotation of treatment rooms and imaging areas.
  • Expected to adhere to all policies and procedures established and set forth by the organization.
  • Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program, Bachelor's degree preferred. ARRT certification required for radiation therapy. Must hold valid state license for radiation therapy with the TMB. BLS certification required.

Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to direct contact with patients with potential for exposure to blood, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites. Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients.
