Farmshelf [http://farmshelf.com/] is an early-stage high-growth startup that builds smart indoor farms that make growing food easy. Our bookshelf-sized Farmshelfs provide leafy greens and herbs year-round to food halls, corporate cafeterias and restaurants, including those of acclaimed chefs Jose Andreas, Marcus Samuelsson, and Claus Meyer. Together, our team of engineers, designers, technicians and plant scientists take on the challenges of creating agricultural technology innovations to feed our growing urban populations.

The Role

We are looking for a talented, energetic, and committed individual to join our diverse team as a Electrical Engineering Summer Associate. This individual will work with the CTO and Senior EE to work on specific electronics projects.

Flexibility is key . The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem solving skills, coupled with an understanding of hardware/technology products, and excellent communication skills. Familiarity with food and agtech is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Translate system requirements into board or firmware requirements, and independently drive projects/features to completion.
  • Implement testing plans for prototype systems, collect data, and analyze results.
  • Assemble electrical prototypes using hand tools and measuring instruments
  • Inspect electrical projects for quality control and assurance
  • Install and maintain electrical systems in a lab setting
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience
  • Problem solver with proven ability to execute
  • Experience designing electrical systems with CAD tools; E.g - Eagle, Altium, etc.
  • Experience working with a Raspberry Pi and Microcontrollers
  • Experience in Test, Quality Engineering, product reliability
  • Great attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Background in performing validation testing, DVT, etc.
  • Solid skills in debug and FA of electronic assemblies
  • Strong ability to drive any required corrective actions
  • Strong organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills
